To better municipalities with timely payment of property tax.

The campaign “My Tax, for My Municipality!” has been launched within the USAID Project – Strengthening Resource Mobilization Activity.

The educational campaign that aims to inform the public that paying property tax is a duty of every citizen-taxpayer, but at the same time an individual’s contribution to building a better future of the municipality.

If you own property in a certain municipality, then you are automatically taxpayers with the legal right to your property tax decision, but it is also a legal obligation and personal duty to pay the tax on time.

Every citizen-taxpayer should know that by timely payment of the property tax, the property tax funds directly fill the municipal budget through which all the planned public and infrastructure projects are implemented. Simply put, each of us personally contributes to the development of the municipality, which in the future will be beautified by: new kindergartens, new playgrounds, new streets, new schools, new lighting, new parks, environmental projects, new industrial development projects.

This campaign, therefore, aims to contribute to timely and accurate informing taxpayers about all rights and obligations, as well as the rights and obligations of the municipality related to property tax.

The USAID Project – Strengthening Resource Mobilization Activity dedicates the month of March to timely informing taxpayer about payment of property tax.

The Project Strengthening Resource Mobilization Activity in the Republic of North Macedonia is funded by the United States Agency for international Development (USAID). The aim of the project is to measurably increase municipalities’ own-source revenues and external funding, and increase their budget execution rate in compliance with the central government’s budgeting and reporting requirements.
