DECENTRALIZATION COMPONENT LEAD

Aleksandar Andovski is graduated economist, Chartered Financial Analyst (specialization on going) at CFA Institute. He has 20 years of experience in project management and in financial management. Has worked in public institutions, private companies and on an internationally financed project.

Has significant experience in advancing the process of decentralization in the country, primarily for increasing transparency and improving local tax collection of Municipalities, and in organization and implementation of trainings and capacity building to improve accountability mechanisms and ensure effective and efficient policy making and implementation.

At his current role at the SRMA project, as the lead for the decentralization component, he is responsible for overseeing the effective, transparent, and accountable implementation of the decentralization activities, including strategy setting, planning, activity design, financial and personnel management. He also plays an active role in policy advice and strategic thinking on decentralization, local governance, urban and rural development and service delivery.

In addition, has substantial experience and knowledge related to: citizen engagement activities, modernization of Secondary technical vocational education in the country, Monitoring and evaluation of project activities; Policy review and programming in the areas of economy, competitiveness, innovation, entrepreneurship, private sector development, innovation, venture capital and investments; Preparation of strategic documents, development plans and analytical materials.
