Round table discussion for “FIGHT AGAINST GREY ECONOMY IN CRAFTS INDUSTRIES”
Organized jointly with USAID / BEP project, on December 7th 2018 in Skopje (Chamber of Crafts) a round table discussion regarding the issues with grey economy and mechanisms to fight the grey economy in crafts industries was arranged.
The event attracted around 50 craftsmen who actively participated on this event, discussing the acute problems that they are facing, mainly with the grey economy, e-Commerce and non-loyal completion.
Some recommendations from this round table reefed to:
- Coordinated action of the inspection authorities for the prevention of the grey economy and enforced application of the Law on Prohibition and Prevention of Unregistered Activity.
- Develop a support system for registration of informal businesses through the one-stop shop system prescribed by the Law on craftsmanship and a voucher registration system.
- Amendments to the Law on craftsmanship (possibility to register an additional activity of 4 hours which will be a benefit for all who are employed and perform unregistered additional activity).
