IDEAS DePo to Support Regional Economic Integration Efforts under the USAID’s Partnerships for Economic Growth Activity
We are thrilled to announce that the Center for Development Policies IDEAS DePo has entered into a Sub-Award Agreement with Palladium International on July 24, 2023. This agreement signifies our joint commitment to the successful implementation of Objective 4 under the USAID Partnerships for Economic Growth Activity, focusing on the enhancement of regional economic integration.
IDEAS DePo’s mission is to facilitate legal, procedural, and institutional reforms in North Macedonia. Our aim is to create an environment that fosters regional economic integration and the smooth movement of goods and services across borders. Importantly, our efforts align with North Macedonia’s WTO and CEFTA commitments while also contributing to harmonizing the Macedonian economy with EU standards. We are dedicated to ensuring that our assistance benefits both the public and private sectors.
Our approach is founded on a balanced mix of activities that empower these sectors to engage in, implement, and benefit from the reforms and policies aimed at bolstering regional integration. We will address specific trade barriers that hinder the performance of export-oriented companies. To achieve this, we will collaborate closely with government institutions and business support organizations, guided by the principles of co-creation.
Following the signing of this Agreement, our representatives, Aleksandar Shahov, IDEAS DePo Director and Trade Expert, and Gordana Tosheva, Objective 4 Lead, actively participated in the Activity’s work planning session held in Ohrid. Concurrently, we have initiated consultations with potential partners and stakeholders to identify specific assistance needs and design tailor-made activities.
IDEAS DePo is excited to collaborate with USAID and Palladium International in our shared commitment to supporting both the public and private sectors in North Macedonia. Our goal is to further advance regional integration efforts and facilitate cross-border trade. Together, we aim to create a brighter economic future for North Macedonia, characterized by increased integration and economic opportunities.
